The occult/mystical is present from the use of the design in the background. I am not fully knowledgeable regarding what particular belief that is from/inspired by, but I am sure that I have seen some along that style/nature before. The artistry applied towards the face/head is brilliant. Some might just see it as a sort of face painting. They would partially be correct, in consideration. But, the full fact of it being very nearly exact towards the specifications of a skull is just astonishing. It is a awe-inspiring piece of work. Even more so for the actual person this work is based upon. You, my friend, receive congratulations from me for your DD. It is very well deserved.
